Sometimes we have the tendency to try and control everything. We feel that we need to be in control of situations in order to help us feel safe and secure.
But like most things, we are not able to control everything.
Sometimes we have to learn how to let go.
Especially when it comes to other people’s actions, thoughts and beliefs.
It can be hard to accept that someone has a thought that is not like yours. Maybe it’s because the two of you normally see eye to eye, but now things are different.
You may find yourself trying to make them see things your way, only to discover there is absolutlely nothing you can do to persuade them to change.
However, change will eventually happen. Unfortunately, there is no way you can control the direction the change will go in, but it will happen.
That is why it’s important to only focus on the things that you can control.
People can spend so much time stressing about controlling another person’s actions, but fail to control the time they get up in the morning or the excessive food they may consume on a daily basis.
I believe that if we all focus on the things that are difficult for us to control, we would be less concerned about controlling someone else.
What are some additional things people try to control?
