Some days, it’s important to step back and ask yourself a simple question:
What am I really building for my future?
Is it the relationship you’re working toward, or the one you’re trying to leave?
Is it the career, the lifestyle, or the dream you keep chasing?
Most of us know what those things are. But the real question is this:
Are they truly yours?
The Leo Full Moon is a reminder to pause and ask yourself this specific question:
Is what I’m working toward truly something I want?
When the Future You’re Building Isn’t Really Yours
A lot of people spend years working toward a future that, deep down, doesn’t belong to them.
Sometimes they know it. Other times, it’s harder to see. Often, it starts early, shaped by family expectations or the paths everyone around you seems to follow. You assume that path is meant for you, too.
Or maybe it comes from a partner. Without realizing it, you start building their vision alongside them, even if it’s not what you truly want for yourself. And because the bills are paid and daily life is fine, you keep going and achieving goals that aren’t even yours.
What the Leo Full Moon Is Really About
The Leo Full Moon is about realignment. It’s about authenticity, honesty, and giving yourself permission to want what you want, without shame or apology.
It’s a moment to stop and ask:
Is what I’m building truly mine, or is it something I’ve adopted because it made sense at the time?
Being Willing to Pivot When Something No Longer Fits
I saw this recently with Kai Cenat. He made a pivot into fashion, and many people didn’t understand why. From the outside, it didn’t seem logical. But for him, it did.
And that’s what this Leo Full Moon keeps bringing me back to – the courage to pivot when something no longer fits.
I experienced this myself when I left the Army. From the outside, it made no sense. I had invested 12 years. I had built time, stability, and a career. People couldn’t understand why I would walk away.
But after having my daughter, I knew I had to leave. Being away for training and deployments and missing time with her became a non-negotiable. Staying in the Army might have made sense on paper, but it no longer aligned with the vision I had for myself as a mother.
If I had stayed just to fulfill a vision that others thought I should, that discontent would have shown up everywhere in my life.
We all reach moments when the way we express ourselves shifts. Sometimes the vision remains the same, but how we want to express it changes. And often, we don’t give ourselves permission to honor that.
Expression Matters Just as Much as the Vision
The Leo Full Moon is also deeply connected to self-expression. It reminds you that how you pursue your vision matters just as much as the vision itself.
No one else has lived your life or carries your unique experiences. The way you express your goals should feel authentic to you. When you try to follow someone else’s path, whether that’s their career, lifestyle, or approach to success, resistance eventually shows up.
For example, you might see streamers making millions and think, That’s the way to succeed. But for me, that wouldn’t align. I’m introverted and quiet. I value my space and my peace.
Becoming a highly visible, constantly conversational streamer would require me to become someone I’m not. And even if it led to money, it wouldn’t feel like my version of success.
That’s where much of the discontent comes from. People try to express their vision the way someone else expressed theirs. Over time, that creates friction, leaving them feeling disconnected from their true path.
True alignment comes from expressing your vision in a way that is natural and sustainable for you, not borrowed from someone else’s journey.
This shows up in careers, too.
You might come from a family of doctors. Your parents are doctors. Your siblings are doctors. So you choose to become a doctor. You might be great at it. Successful. Fulfilled in certain ways.
And yet, there’s another vision you keep imagining. One that looks nothing like the life you’re living. That vision deserves to be honored and cherished.
Honoring What’s True Without Burning Everything Down
The good thing is, you can be building one thing while knowing that your true vision is something else.
That’s allowed, and you should be doing it.
You can say, I’m doing this right now because it supports my life, while also knowing what you truly want and choosing to work toward it.
Most people never give themselves permission to hold both truths. They think it has to be all or nothing. They think authenticity requires burning everything down or staying inconsistent because they can’t have what they want yet.
But that’s not true.
Sometimes authenticity begins with small steps, like honesty, balance, and the courage to acknowledge what you truly want.
The Real Invitation of the Leo Full Moon
The Leo Full Moon invites you to pause and reflect on what you’re building. Look at your top goals, your biggest desires, and the future you keep talking about.
Then ask yourself: Is this truly my vision or someone else’s?
This is your chance to reconnect with what feels authentic, and to begin moving toward a future that actually belongs to you.
Moving Forward With Clarity
If you know you’re building something for survival right now, and you also know there’s another vision calling you, this is the time to acknowledge that.
Because once you’re honest about what’s truly yours, you can slowly start to build a future that feels like you.
The Leo Full Moon is your chance to pause, reflect, and realign. It’s a reminder that authenticity begins with honesty. It’s about creating a life that’s fully, unapologetically yours.
So take this moment to reflect. Realign. And start moving toward the future that belongs to you.
