The Capricorn New Moon Is Giving You One Last Shot to Reset Before 2025—Here’s How to Make It Count

84

The second New Moon in December, also called the Black Moon, is a unique moment in time.

It’s like the universe’s way of giving you one last chance to dig deep before the year ends.

As we close out 2024, this Black Moon is asking you to pause, reflect, and really check in on what’s been working and what hasn’t.

We talk a lot about manifesting, but Capricorn energy is here to remind you that it’s time to stop wishing and start doing.

It’s about getting real with your goals.

Think of this as your final check-in before 2025.

Capricorn is all about structure, discipline, and taking action. This is your chance to stop and take an honest look at where you’re at. What have you actually done this year? What worked? And what needs to change going forward?

Without knowing where you’re starting from, it’s hard to know where you’re going.

So, let’s dig in and get clear on what’s working, what’s not, and what needs attention as you move into the new year.

Step 1: Set the Mood

Before diving into the self-assessment, take a moment to set the tone.

The Capricorn New Moon is all about grounding and building for the future—so make sure your space reflects that energy.

Find a quiet moment, whether it’s early morning or late at night, where you can be alone with your thoughts.

Here’s how to prep:

  • Light a white candle for clarity and focus.
  • Burn incense or sage to clear the air and ground your energy.
  • If you feel called to, light a few bay leaves. On each one, write an affirmation that aligns with the Capricorn energy. For example:
    • “I am grounded and focused on my goals.”
    • “I have the discipline to create the life I want.”
    • “I am building a strong foundation for 2025.”

If those don’t resonate with you, feel free to write whatever feels right. Once written, burn the leaves and let the smoke carry your intentions into the universe.

You can also play relaxing music or just sit in silence, whatever feels right.

This is your time, so make it sacred.

No rush, no distractions, just you, your intentions, and the energy of the moment.

Step 2: Manifestation Check-In – Where Are You Right Now?

Now that you’ve set the mood, it’s time for the real work: checking in with where you stand.

The Capricorn New Moon is all about being practical, so this step is about measuring where you are right now in relation to your goals.

Before we dive into the questions, a quick note: the questions I’m about to share focus on three common areas—love, career, and health. These are major areas for many people, but this is just a starting point. Your manifestations may look different, and that’s totally fine.

The important thing is to get clear on what matters most to you.

If you could manifest just one thing in 2025, what would it be? This could be in your love life, your career, or even your financial freedom.

Whatever it is, get clear on that one thing and let your self-assessment focus on it.

For me, one of my big goals for 2025 is growing my business, so my check-in questions revolve around measurable things like how many followers I gained and how many people are on my email list. Things like that.

Your questions would reflect what you are manifesting.

Here are some examples:

Manifesting Love?

  • How many dates did you go on this year?
(For example: “I went on 3 dates.”)
  • How many new, meaningful connections did you make?
(For example: “I made 5 new connections.”)
  • How much did you prioritize self-love before seeking a relationship?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “Not much,” 10 being “It was my top priority.”)
  • How firm were your boundaries in relationships?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “I didn’t communicate boundaries,” 10 being “I communicated and stuck to them.”)
  • How aligned were the people you met with your ideal partner vision?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “Not at all,” 10 being “Multiple people aligned.”)

Manifesting Career Success?

  • How many professional opportunities did you pursue?
(For example: “I pursued 3 opportunities.”)
  • How many new professional connections did you build?
(For example: “I built 4 new connections.”)
  • How much did you improve your skills or learn something new this year?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “No improvement,” 10 being “I learned multiple new skills or completed certifications.”)
  • How confident are you in your career direction?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “Uncertain,” 10 being “Confident and clear.”)
  • How much action did you take to position yourself for a promotion or raise?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “No action,” 10 being “Took consistent, strategic action.”)

Manifesting Health & Wellness?

  • How consistent were you with your fitness routine?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “No exercise,” 10 being “Consistently exercised every week.”)
  • How many days this year did you make healthy eating choices?
(For example: “I made healthy choices 150 days this year.”)
  • How much focus did you give to mental health and stress relief?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “No focus,” 10 being “Made it a priority every day.”)
  • How much sleep did you prioritize?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “No focus on sleep,” 10 being “I made sleep a consistent priority.”)
  • How much healthier do you feel physically and mentally compared to last year?
(Rate from 1 to 10: 1 being “I feel worse,” 10 being “I feel significantly better.”)

Why This Check-In Matters

I know this might feel like a lot of numbers to process, but it’s how you get a clear view of where you are right now.

It’s not about perfection, just about getting honest with yourself.

This is a snapshot of your current reality, and with it, you can focus your energy where it’s needed most.

By breaking things down into specific, measurable goals, you’ll know where to shift your focus in 2025.

Maybe you didn’t prioritize health as much as you thought, or maybe you didn’t take as many actions toward your career goals as you planned.

And that’s okay! This is about clarity, not judgment.

Having this baseline will help you see what you’ve already accomplished, and where to go from here.

Keep This Somewhere You Can Reflect On

Once you’ve written it all down, keep it somewhere safe where you can revisit it regularly.

I was decluttering a drawer the other day and found old letters I’d written to myself about goals I set years ago.

It was such a powerful moment to look back and see how far I’ve come and how much I still want to work on.

It’s a reminder that progress isn’t always easy to spot. Especially when you rely on your memory.

So, hold onto this check-in. You’ll want to look back on it later and see how far you’ve come as you move into 2025.

Setting the Stage for 2025

You’ve now assessed where you stand in relation to your goals, which gives you a solid starting point for 2025.

The key now is to use this information to create a clear action plan. This is where your intentions become more intentional. You now have metrics to evaluate where you are and what steps you need to take to move forward.

Here’s an example:

Example 1: Health Goals

If you weigh 160 lbs and want to lose weight, set a clear goal:
“By the end of 2025, I want to weigh 140 lbs.”

Example 2: Fitness Routine

If you’ve been working out 2-3 times a week, aim to step it up:
“In 2025, I want to work out 4-5 times a week.”

The key is to turn your desires into specific, trackable targets hat give you a clear path forward.

And remember, January 1 doesn’t have to be your start date. You can literally take the whole month of January to really get clear on your strategies and plans so that when February or March rolls around, you’re ready to hit the ground running with purpose.

Wishing you a beautiful New Moon and a productive, reflective and beautiful last couple of days of 2024!
