Bay Leaf Bath

If you are on a manifestation journey and love working with the energy of plants and herbs, you may have heard about the power of bay leaves. I love working with bay leaves and have used them to manifest many things into my life.

Until about two years ago, I only used bay leaves to write my wish on them and burn them. I never knew there was a way to use them in a bath. But after using them, I see why they are so powerful.

Why Are Bay Leaves Powerful?

Bay leaves are used in many magic rituals and spells because of their potency in manifesting desires. The herbs amplify your intentions and help you focus on what you want to achieve. Bay leaves can be added to any spell or ritual to increase their power or can be carried with you as a personal talisman for good luck and abundance.

How To Take A Bay Leaf Bath

There are two ways to take your bay leaf bath.

The first way consists of you boiling your bay leaves, and the second way will be directly putting them inside of your bath without boiling.

Choose which method works best for you depending on the amount of time you have.

Quick Tip

Since you are focused on working with bay leaves to manifest your desires, make sure to be intentional with every step of your bath. From preparing your bay leaf bath to the time you get out, hold the intention of what you want to manifest in your mind.

Every part of your ritual matters.

Bay Leaf Bath Method #1

You will need:

  • 10-15 dried bay leaves
  • Essential oil (optional)
  • 1 quart of water
  • A large pot

Directions:

  1. Fill the pot with water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Remove the pot from the heat and add your bay leaves
  3. Allow them to steep for about 10 minutes.
  4. If you would like, add essential oil to your mixture. I love to add oils that correspond with my intention. For example, if I am manifesting more money, I may add some cinnamon oil to my bath.
  5. Take a moment to reflect on your intention and inhale the fumes from the pot three times.
  6. Run your bathwater, and then add in your bay leaf mixture.
  7. Use your hand and swirl the water around while repeating your intention in the present tense. For example, “I am so grateful now that I have X in my life, and I can live my life the way I want to.”
  8. Get into your bath and soak for at least 20 minutes. While in the tub, continue to visualize your intention and feel grateful for already having it in your life.

Bay Leaf Bath Method #2 – Quick Method

You will need:

  • 10-15 dried bay leaves
  • Essential oil (optional)

Directions:

  • Fill your bathtub with water.
  • Add your bay leaves to the water and visualize your intention. You can also add a few drops of essential oils to enhance your bath.
  • Swirl the water around and focus on your intention while repeating out loud in the present tense.
  • Soak in your bath for at least 20 minutes.

For me, I prefer the first method since it allows me to take some time to reflect on my intention and get into the right headspace before getting into the bath. But the way life is set up, sometimes we don’t have the time for that and need to go with the quick method.

Whichever method you choose, know that both are effective in manifesting your desires because, ultimately, the power lies within you.

What To Do After Your Bay Leaf Bath

Once you have completed your ritual, please give yourself some time to relax and reflect.

You can journal about your experience or meditate on your intention. But allow yourself to be still for a few minutes and feel the energy of your intention. When I finish a bay leaf ritual, it has happened many times that I will have an “Aha!” moment and have some clarity on what I need to do next in my life to attract my desire.

It’s the most rewarding feeling in the world because I know that the Universe is talking to me and guiding me in the right direction.

If you have had that feeling before, then you know exactly what I am talking about.
