What if I told you all you needed was the 17-second manifestation technique to dramatically shift the course of your entire life? I know it sounds way too good to be true, but the power of our minds is not something to write off. When we wield this power with intention and focus, we can unlock our desires and achieve the success we deserve. 

If you’re familiar with the Law of Attraction and manifestation techniques, then you’ll know that these exercises aim to meet the vibrations of whatever you want to invite into your life. 

Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the means by which the energies of the Universe come together. Our thoughts carry energetic vibrations interacting with our surroundings and bringing forth our realities. If you have ever had a rough morning that led to an even tougher day, you know exactly what I am talking about. 

Our thoughts govern our lived experience in a very real way. The more positive vibrations we release, the more we receive in return. Whatever we put our energy towards will find its way back to us. This is why our thoughts are so powerful.

The 17-second manifestation technique works under the same principle but condenses the practice into just a mere 68 seconds in total.

Wait, I thought you said all I needed was 17 seconds? And now you’re saying the whole process is 68 seconds? The answer to both of these questions is actually “yes!” Allow me to explain…

Abraham Hicks 17 Second Rule

Abraham Hicks shared the 17-second rule as a manifestation method that has the potential to alter the entire course of your life. Hicks is a motivational speaker, author, and “a group consciousness from the non-physical dimension” who intimately explores the Law of Attraction.  Abraham is channeled through intuitive Esther Hicks to share insights, wisdom, and teachings of the Divine. 

The teaching states that the Law of Attraction process begins with a single thought that lasts 17 seconds. This is what Hicks calls the “combustion point” – where the elevated vibrations from your thoughts begin to spiral and inspire other positive thoughts. After 17 seconds of pristine thinking, you will inspire another thought of that same nature. If you multiply these constructive thoughts by four, you have a total of 68 seconds of pointedly focused thinking. Hicks says that it takes 68 seconds of clear thought to manifest your desires into reality.

How to Do It  

The trick to using this method effectively is to ensure the thought is pure. When using the 17-second method, no other contradicting or invasive thoughts must pop up for you during this time. Although 17 seconds sounds like no time at all, this singular focus can be hard for some to achieve. 

If you want to try out the 17-second manifestation ritual yourself, I recommend taking the following steps.

Create your sacred space. 

With any meditative work, it is important that you have a quiet, serene, soulful space in which you can explore levels of higher consciousness. Wherever you set your space, make sure you will not be interrupted or disturbed by outside noises, people, or pets. Consider adorning your meditation spot with a cushion, some incense, maybe a crystal or two, and whatever else you need to feel safe and relaxed.

Below is an example of my sacred space. It used to be a junk closet, but I cleaned it and created my own spot.


Decide what you want. 

You will need to choose what you want to manifest, as this will be your focus for the 17 seconds of this exercise. Start with an affirming phrase such as, “I have $100,000 in my savings account,” or “I am worthy of a positive long-term relationship.” Affirmations align our thoughts with the vibrations of what we desire, which is key to this manifestation technique. 

Set a calming timer for 17 seconds.

For this one, you may want to download a meditation app with a soothing alarm sound (such as a Gong or Tibetan singing bowl). Set the timer for 17 seconds and hold your affirming thoughts for the full duration of the timer.

If you slip up, just start the timer over. Remember, it’s no big deal if you can’t hold your thought for 17 seconds. Practice so you can get there in time. It will work for you if you keep at it. 

Gradually increase the amount of time you hold your thoughts. 

Over time, you will notice that the 17 seconds come rather quickly. When this starts to happen, extend your timer by 17-second increments until you can get to 68 seconds of pure thought. This is where the magic happens. 

Practice every day. 

Like anything else, the results only come if you work at it. This method requires a consistent ritual to be fully effective however, it’s not as intensive as other methods like the 1×11 manifestation method. You only need to start with 17 seconds and gradually increase it to 68 seconds.

The 17-second manifestation technique is so accessible that anyone can do it. By trying it out for yourself, you have nothing to lose (except 17 seconds) – and everything to gain. Incorporating a manifestation practice like this into your routine has the power to influence your life in profound ways.
